I see someone had a disqualification. Fancy getting that far and that happening. Wonder what happened.

I've heard that it may be that the bird's toes were forward.

It will be interesting,to here the reason, for the disq,I would think Jeff, would be on the ball, something must of

got past him.

GO THE VICS,241

nsw 232

Jeff has confirmed it: 3 toes forward. Pity 'cause it was a really strong bird.

Interesting that they would select a bird like that, knowing what the consquence's have turned out to be.

Maybe Heath, they took the punt, the judges, might not notice it.But just imagine if they let it past & the hundreds of

outside the rope judges, seeing it,The other`reason, may of been they only had 2 birds, to go to the show,O would be pissed,if my bird was reserve bird & did't get a run.It will sell okay at a auction as a member of the 09 national

team.

So Hey Macka would my DF spangle sell well being a member of the national team too  even though he didn't go

Its a real hard one Macka, its only a disqualification if its a permanent deformity. Meaning that if you are judging and see the correct toe position only once, its not a permanent deformity. I'm guessing that it would have been a tough decision for the Judges also, they dont like doing that.

Has anyone heard how the Auction went?????????????

Hi Guys from The Nationals... What a First day. Nubbly and I are having a great time.

Sorry to Jeff fir the disqualification. A very Strong Dominant pied but with three toes forward on both feet. Strangely the Judges didn't try to get him to move to see if they would return to the back......

There has been controversy, with the SQ team becoming ill on Chaff being put in the holding cages.

NSW had a hen that went wild and attacked the other team birds.

The score are not be displayed very well and you have to work out who is winning.

There was an issue at the auction with people getting other people's bidding tickets.

But the food and people are bloody great

I'm off to the nights festivities so will see if Nubbly does end up at the bar ;)

I'm back and I'm SHAGGED!!!!!! Dave ganzer gave me a hello kiss and his swine flu ;) so now I'm all sniffly and horrible.

Tassie was fantastic and the whole show ran like a dream for them with a top venue (so jealous) and great feedback on the live streaming. I'm almost sad I was actually there and missed out on seeing that. I spent too much money on Rosalia Rafferty's beautiful budgie paintings and other sundry budgie stuff as well as just a little bit of alcohol ;) .

The Dom Pied of Jeff's that was DQ'ed was sitting in 1st for a long time before the judges decided to DQ it. When selected this bird was moved and at the time put it's toes back well enough, even on the day our carer's did the same to make sure but the judges didn't move the bird (within the cage with a judges stick) to see if it would put the toes back. This was what was done last year to give the birds every chance so I'm not sure why they did not do this - even Henry George made comment that they had not move the bird.

The stand out bird of the weekend (IMO & others too) was Hanno's absolutely magnificent cinnamonwing. This would have to be the most lovely, most complete bird I have ever seen.

I was very happy with my lovely LW boy's 3rd place and my fallows 6th place (even beating the king himself Hanno in this class) as I've struggled to breed this tricky variety for 5 years now and started with 1 fallow cock and a split from Hanno and built up from there.

Other placings were a 10th in greens, 13th in gr greens, 13th in blues (at least I'm consistent), 11th in clearwings and a 12th with my other (not fallow) lacewing - god I'm tired........

Well Done nubbly5.

Does Dr Harry Cooper still breed budgies for showing?

Interesting to see how that goes Daz
