Does any one know if bottle brush is safe for budgies?

I haven't put any in with my budgie's before but generally speaking they're usually okay with natives. There's a good post on this forum about budgie safe plant though and it might be in there, I'll see if I can find it.............

I have some in my back yard and see other birds in there and they seem to enjoy it, so just wanted to check.

My birds love bottle brush. It is perfectly safe. Check it for creepy crawlies and get rid of those. Wash it thoroughly. My tiels and budgies enjoy stripping everything off bottle brush, including the bark. It makes a mess, which is easy to clean up. The birds really focus on wrecking it and enjoy themeselves.

The other birds that you see in there are probably nectar eaters, like rainbow lorikeets. Budgies aren't nectar eaters but they might give it a go.

I agree with the above they'd probably use it more as a play thing to destroy rather than a food source. Also if you wash the actual flowers it'll more than likely remove the nectar which won't really make a difference with budgies but if you get nectar eaters down the line don't wash the blossoms.

Perfectly safe. Just remember to give it a rince under the tap. If it's not from your garden be very wary of sprays etc... Try and get them a branch with flowers/nuts etc... and they'll love you for it!

Yes, Australian native birds such as budgies will eat (or play with and destroy) these plants.

I planted two bushes in my back yard and they LOVE them when I cut off branches for them

well i gave my budgie some bottle brush today and wow did he have a ball....

Now for the clean up haha

That is great! The clean up is worth it for the fun he had.

Well worth it to plant a bush if you can, some types will do well in pots. I also planted a Gum that my mum gave my birds for xmas year before last and I just keep cutting the top off it and giving them the new leaves they love it. However some like it to dry out and then attack it a few days later, other destroy it within mins of going in the cage. Best part is my breeding room smells great for a few days!

i have a tree in my back yard.....

He loves bottlebrush, millet and honey treats....not so keen on the fresh fruit and veg.....

have to keep trying with them.

mine love it too my aviary has some growing in it and also all around the outside of it so easy to supply them with it!

I wish there was some around here. But I'll just have to stick to gums>

Are you sure you don't have any mysix? I reckon it's all over australia.
