Can you use a breeder cage inside the house ?

Not really, don't have the space, and a 2 1/2 year old wouldn't make it very relaxing for them!!

Hmm, if your going to do breed them, get to it straight away, by the time she has completely hatched her youngen's it will be well into june maybe even july, so on second thoughts, probably not the best idea, the hens i have with eggs and youngen's are just gonna scrape it through the 1st month of winter so even then im taking a risk, although the dangerous stage is over (egg laying) so no fear's of egg bounding, for your budgie's safety, i wouldnt breed them again till late september early october.

Even though it has the appearance of a double factor dominant pied, I would suggest it is a single factor dominant pied...very lightly marked. But since you bred two entirely different pieds together it could also be a recessive pied. Has the orange beak of a recessive pied. I guess you wait to see if iris rings show up :)

I guess the whole YF1/YF2/GF thing complicates things here! Can anyone explain how I've ended up with this white based chick from YF2 (GF?) parents? I know about double factor YF1 producing a visually white faced bird, however, I thought any chicks from 2 YF2 birds would be yellow......?

I get extremely confused about the whole business!! :)
