Posted May 19, 200915 yr Hello All, I have just recently (Sat) purchased a green budgie, Percy. I am soooo new at this and need all the advice i can get. He seems scared, doesnt do much. But today has chirped more than ive heard him before.... He eats from his hanging cone but i havnt seen him drink or eat his seed from his bowl......... what can i do to make him like me? i really want him to be a great tame friend for my daughter.... When i cover him at night i dont hear a peep from him. If we go near the cage during day he flies to back top of cage.......................... Im hoping to gain alot of information on here to settle my budgie and give him a great life...... Nice meeting you all.
May 19, 200915 yr Hello and welcome! You are definitely in the right place to get all the information you need Percy sounds gorgeous and sounds quite normal for a new bird. It would be great if you can post a photo of him too
May 19, 200915 yr Author Thank You. I will post a picture very soon..... Would love your opinion on age and sex..... I was told a male. Im glad his behaviour is normal. He was worrying me. He seems to chirp more when my daughter is around. Funny.
May 20, 200915 yr Welcome to BBC , we have a forum called Bonding with your Budgie, and I know there is a thread started and I think it is PINNED on Taming Tips from our Members, that is a good place to start reading, also there is an article in the FAQ about Taming your Budgie that is most helpful. .
