Hi all, :)

Just thought I would share this awesome news with you all! Im getting a 16hh, 6yr old thoroughbred called Oscar! :D He's a black/brown gelding, with a small white star on his head, and a white sock on his off hind. He loves jumping, which is wonderful as I do too!

Also, have found an equestrian park just down the road from us, with jumps, flat work etc! Joining the pony club then I get to go to the equestrian park whenever I want!! :D

Going to meet and ride Oscar for the first time tomorrow, cant wait!! :D

Bye!! :)

Hi as someone who has horses all her life I can say YEAH! But also remember don't get caught up in the "great new horse" and forget that you need to make sure the fit is right for you both, there is nothing worse then buying a horse and getting him home and realising you had made a mistake

Thanks AV! I am really caught up in the 'great new horse' thing!! But yes, I know I have to make sure he's a good fit, I will be careful, thanks. He's coming from a friend, who has said that if he's not right, they have some other horses I can choose from also.

Thanks Elly. I am really really excited! Especially about taking him to the equestrian park, with the cross country jumps!!! They also do show jumping too!! Cross country is my favourite! They have a sand arena too for flat work and dressage! Yipee! Will let you all know how he goes, and will get some photos soon! I have photos on my phone, but thats it.

That's great that they are willing to help you find the right fit. When you test ride him take your own saddle as this will give you a better feel for the horse so as you are not getting use to both a new saddle and a new horse. Also check that the saddle fits. I find that thoroughbred are one of the worse horses when it comes to switching saddles. My Cob i could take my jumping saddle then put my allrounder and then my dressage on him and no issue with Holly I had to get all my saddles refitted to her as she could not handle a ill fitting saddle, her sire was the same! Fussy fussy horses

Yes, it is great, I cant wait!! Thanks heaps for the advice AV! Have you ever been to Unicorn Park?

No I have not I use to rid lots when we lived up in Euroa and was a member of the adult ridding club once I was to old for Pony Club. I then hurt my back and now my Horse is a Polo Breeder and has just had another little filly so very very very pretty!
