Im getting a few birds ready for a show in a month or so and a couple of them have either broken there tail fethers or flights, mainly i think from being in the show cages jumping from side to side and up an down the wire fronts the whole time.

 

The one's it has happend to already i have pulled out the remains of the broken fethers hopeing they will grow in time for the show.

 

Would anyone be able to tell how long roughly it takes for these feathers to grow back??

Matt - Tails and flights can take up 10-12 weeks to grow back

Heath's right... No good in a month. If they have one good tail it is only a penalty. No tail no show.

and how would i go about proventing it again?

Matt is just part of the moulting cycle. Happens to every bird and every breeder can tell stories about a Super bird losing there tails just before a show.
