Posted May 13, 200916 yr This is my new girl and the last of my flock With 8 budgies my flock is now complete.. I decided to make it a flock of 8, that way I can breed two pairs at a time. She was kind of an unexpected budgie.. I told myself: "The last girl has to be a spangle.. nothing but a spangle" ..Since spangle is my favorite wing mutation and I don't have one! So I went to the petstore to get some crickets for my uncle's Emperor Scorpion (eww). And as always I couldn't resist looking at the budgies, I thought: "Maybe that spangle girl is here at last!".. But no spangles.. then I saw a flash of color running around like crazy! I was like wow that girl is just like Oliver! So full of energy! and beautiful too. Then I realized she was also an opaline and a really big one as well.. Just like Oliver and those were the exact reasons I got Oliver.. The energy, size and beauty. Then I knew she was the one. I just couldn't leave her there and I had to take her home! It took forever to get her out of the petshop cage, she just kept running, and when she was finally in the box she managed to escape through the petshop guy's hand.. but he got her and she bit him three times lol. I realize that now that my flock is finally complete it means that I won't be getting any spangles.. but I love my new girl so much and I have no regrets! Its okay.. a spangle will come to me someday.. Anyways.. My new girl is adapting very well, the first night she started playing and climbing all over the cage. She adapted faster than Oliver did and she is not as scared of me as he is. They are both still in quarantine and in different cages as well. Its very nice to hear all my birds calling each other. They are all in different rooms and their little calls fill the whole house! Here are some pictures: Any name ideas are welcome
May 13, 200916 yr Is it just the high definition playing tricks on my eyes or is that beak a little scaly? Might just be that i dont look at beaks in high def normally lol.
May 13, 200916 yr I think its just because of the definition. Great photo's by the way. Your bird looks great. As for a name... I dunno maybe something to do with the sea seeing that she is a seafoam colour...
