Wow, she's laying already :P

unfortunately 3 days ago, i found the eldest cinnamon sky blue baby on the aviary floor huddled in the quail house with the quail's! so he left the nest earlier then i thought...but their all inside now, all the baby's.

Omelette usually lays second round while chicks are still in the nest :)

Wouldnt matter if you were mate......I am not breeding her for a sale bird. She will be part of a future breeding program based on Omelette's line.

fair enough, she's a beautiful opaline, would be interesting to see in the future what she throw's and who her mate will be.

I must say though...if you lived nearby I would help you with a bird or two

Nah it's all good, I've got enough to look after  unless i get another aviary, which i might. ill probably just stick with the 24 i have and then ill maybe put some scarlet-chested parrot's in the new aviary or a pair of princess or even a cinnamon conure pair

Two eggs to Omelette...one chick still in the nestbox with her

I put the youngest chick in the tub on the floor of the breeder cage with its siblings...............NASTY took exception to that and attacked the sister....blood on its head ( not serious ) and it bit NASTY back on the cere. NASTY was doing this in the nestbox too, and thats how she got her name.

So I put NASTY in the kindie/holding cage.....

Here is an interesting sight..............the grey green cock is one of Omelette's sons by a previous clutch. He was in there recovering from an injury to his eye from some wire catching his eye in the aviary. So big brother ( half brother ) and NASTY sitting together

When I found him in the aviary he had blood streaming from his eye socket and it looked like he had lost his eye. Even when I bathed it and cleaned it there was no eyeball there. Next day he was much better and a few days later his eyeball appeared as if like magic. It had been pushed back into his eye socket looking like he had lost his eyeball. Over a week his eye got much better and I tested his sight and he can see. We were very lucky :)
