They look real nice Shannon...best of luck in the show. Have you had them in a show cage for training yet ?

i am working on that :D

any tips

Show cage training..............put show cages in a car and go for a drive with the birds in them...they have to perch because they dont like sliding around on the floor of the cage. Or ping pong balls on the floor of the cage, or marbles. Or turn the show cage upside down to train them....before you put them in.

Indeed, they look fantastic, especially the opaline hen, like kaz suggested, take them for a drive in a show cage to get them used to the surroundings....so they wont freak out at the show and blow their chance's at winning

Good luck!

Shannon, you will do well. All the best and let us know how you go.

As for the show cage training 1/2 a day is fine. Just be patient and using a judging stick (i used a chop stick) help the bird to the perch and then stand away. If it jumps down count to 10 and put it back then stand back. Keep this up until the bird gets the idea that if it is on the perch you will leave it alone.

..but be patient and don't hurry, it will take some time.

If they are going to show, they will show. The hardest thing is to get them to perch.

I mean how many of your birds are you taking to the show.
