Posted May 2, 200916 yr Today I bought a new aviary out of the Trading Post, and to my surprise it came with 19 budgies! There's a grey and white, which is a colour I've been wanting for ages. If the budgies are staying in the aviary they came in, is there any need to quarantine them in cages?
May 2, 200916 yr Woah look at them all. If they are going into their own aviary, well away from any other birds then they can be quarantined in the aviary.
May 2, 200916 yr I agree with Pearce....if they are in their own aviary and none of your birds are in with them or near them then you are fine. Quarantine them there and treat for anything you find or routinely treat with the usual.

May 2, 200916 yr If you havent got a decent distance ( 15 to 20 ft or more ) between the new aviary and birds and your other aviaries then make a plastic sheeting barrier so wind wont carry any "harmfuls" to the other birds.
May 2, 200916 yr wow that's great I agree with the others in regard to quarantine. will you put them with your own birds after quarantine?
May 3, 200916 yr Author will you put them with your own birds after quarantine? Yes, we'll keep the ones we want to breed and exchange or sell the others.
