Was wondering what I could expect out of my pairings?

It's my first year breeding and I'm a bit slow on the uptake in the genetics field!!!

No I don't know, These are all the things I am still to learn.

DSC02605-1.jpg50% green normal 50% Green Dominant Pied all split blue.

DSC02613.jpgOh I love this one.. 100% oplaines. 50% Spangles. The hens will be Cinnamon.

So you will get some Spangle Opaline Cinnamon Hens and Spangle Opaline Cocks and Oplaine Cocks and Opaline Cinnamon Hens.

But that is assuming that there are no splits or masks in these birds. :)

DSC02605-1.jpg

Pair One - Green Normal cock x dominant pied hen

green normals/blue

green pieds/ blue

Paur two - Green opaline spanlge x Grey opaline hen

Green opalines

Green opaline spangles

greygreen opalines

greygreen opaline spangles

Of cuase there are split gene that any of the parents could be carrying that can appear, such as if the males are split in blue then blue young can appear in the clutches.

Daz - where is the cinnamon??

Spangle looks too light to be a normal Spanlge Opaline. so I expect it to be Spangle Opaline Cinnamon

Compare him to the Normal Light green above... he looks very light green

Thanks for your response everyone, it's almost like everyone is waiting out there for these type of questions!!!

The first pair I got from an elderly lady in Perth who was anable to take them with her where she went, poor old love. Last time she laid she had 9 eggs she said, she seemed like she knew what she was doing. I don't know if it makes a diference but she look's blue in the photo but is very violet. I should of asked when I had the chance.

Looks cinnamon spangle to me too :)

okay i can see your thinking there, i put the paleness of colour down to the flash of the photo.

dont forget the pied hen is a violet cobalt, could get violet blues or greens if the cock is split blue
