The babies have moved on into the flight cage with an elder male now.

he's out now yeah. He was in their to be a role model for the younger chicks as suggested by a friend and today he is looking sick.

Were your gum branches washed ? Could he have got sick from something on them ?

The gum leaves were washed thoroughly and so was the cage. The cage I built myself. Their is a few holes where perches went etc, Ill get a picture for you.

no but al the babies from this clutch have their flights crossed. Is it genetic?

The male budgie did not survive the night.

It could be the black tape on the perch,I see it had been chewed,As Kaz mentioned the wings,the blue one siting

next to the sick one,looked a bit suss, watch him.

2 of those chicks are missing flights Macka it is just one of the many problems I have had this year.

I should have noticed in the nestbox that the albino had started losing feathers. The grey didnt lose them in the nest, i took it out of the box for a test flight and feathers went everywhere on its first attempt :D Thats when i knew something was noooot right!

 

I know your pain!

 

Now that i look back, i can see the YF albinos feathers werent right and there is a fallen one beneath it:

If they hit somthing the feathers fall out like that so I end up having to pull them.
