April 24, 200916 yr They are gorgeous. I love the YF Sky violet - he is a stunner Edited April 24, 200916 yr by **Liv**
April 24, 200916 yr Lovely lot there, the albino in the first shot looks like she might be lacewing you can see her markings in her mask and wings.
April 24, 200916 yr yes I would agree hilly, could be a messy eater i guess, but they certainly look like very slight cinamon markings on the mask...
April 24, 200916 yr Author I knew it!!! I thought she might be a Lacewing. Was sold to me as Albino but I noticed the same markings, 1st thought it might be stains from food but looking at the picture and looking at her again she does have cinnomon markings on her mask and they haven't gone away since I got her. Cool, I like Lacewings. No markings on her wings though, mask only. Looked again at the picture and although you can see marking on her wings in the picture you can in real life, maybe the flash brings them out. Thanks I new the Sky blue Oplaine was also a spangle just must have left it out for some reason when I was typing. Both pics of the Skyblue Oplaine Spangle are of the same bird. June 28, 200915 yr Author Some pics of the gang now in the aviary. The aviary temporarily has one of those plastic table cloths haning on the outside acting as a wall to block a little wind until my partner puts some more colourbond sheets on, it works well enough. Chalk, a fav hen of mine. Although I should probably change her name to carrot as she's basically addicted to them. Cheese, Chalks other half. Lift-Off (when I 1st got him he escaped but was easilly caught as he seemed to fly in slow motion) Beardo, chatting up his invisable girlfriend. Casper and Big Mamma, forever a loving couple. Shambles and Queenie, Shambles always seems scruffy.
June 28, 200915 yr Author Thanks, I'm not sure if I'm going to use Queenie for breeding as she developed a feather cyst a while back and since they're hereditary I'm a bit worried about her passing it on to her young. If anyone knows how likely it is that feather cysts are to be passed on down the line any info would be appreciated.

Some can be triggered by mites infecting the feather follicle.
June 28, 200915 yr Author Hmmm......... so maybe I should give her a try and see how the bubs turn out. If they're going to get a feather cyst (hereditary type) does it usually happen in their 1st/2nd moult?

July 4, 200915 yr Author More 'more pics' taken today. Chalk my personality + hen having a spinach bath. After, looking a bit dishevelled. Grendell having a go. All in. This Spinach really isn't big enough for the both of us.
July 4, 200915 yr Author Loving couples, some of my planned pairs that have stayed together after being introduced to the aviary. Beardo and Queenie Cheese and Chalk (these 2 get a bit raunchy at times) Sadly not all my pairs stayed bonded, Mr lost his girl and has to be content chatting to himself.

July 4, 200915 yr Author Understand where your comming from with the budgie talk, I've got some strange looks from listeners on when talking about a cocks blow.
July 25, 200915 yr Author Some pics of the newbies (from WA). The grey cocks are brothers and Split Albino. Any suggestions on pairings (with each other or any of my other birds welcome). For now they'll be resting in quarantine and getting a little TLC, while I think of names........
