Recessive Pied (c) X Lutino (h)

Just wondering what could be expected from mating a Recessive pied cock (dark/olive green) and lutino hen?

Split Recessive visually normal? Cocks split Lutino?

It will all depend on what they are both carrying the possibilities are endless, Dave is right if they are what they seem on the outside, except your males will all be split to lutino as well as recessive pied.

Chances are that they will both be carrying blue or yf and the hen could be masking lots of colours including recessive pied.

The fun will be in waiting to see what you get and then you will know, unless you have information on both their parents to give you a guide.

Cheers Jenny

Cocks will be Split Recessive and Lutino and the hens will be Split Recessive.

If the cock is Dark Green then the offspring will be 50% Light Green (assuming that the lutino is not carrying dark factors) 50% dark Green.

If the cock is Olive then the offspring will be 25% light green 50% dark green and 25% olive.

In terms of specific mutations, I assume it all depends on what the lutino is masking...ie normal, spangle, pied etc?

agree. It all depends on what the lutino is masking... do you know what the parents of the lutino were? If not you could be in for some surprises. Best of luck with this pairing and let us know what you end up with.

Thank all,

Don't know what the Lutino's parents were....

I'll let you all know what I get :)
