tried to take a few photos today. especially wanted one or two from the big grey green cock.

It was not easy. He would move around everywhere and headbutt the walls of the showcage. As well as sit in the corner of the show cage and try dig a way out.. He also did the very common jailbreak technique, running from one side to the other over 50 times. at the end I managed to get a few pictures of him and some other birds. As you will see from this thread, big heads do not mean big smart brains.

I know what you mean about them not keeping still in the showcage for photos. Recently I had an nuisance cock who would not even stop for a split second for a photo. I wanted a photo for his records. Back and forwards, back and forwards...it was like watching a bouncing ball and he wouldnt stop. So I left him there and went to have dinner. I remembered he was there the next morning he was fine as he had already had his dinner when he went in there. When I went to the cage he was perched and calm and has been brilliant ever since.

yeah its frustrating. Watching them go back and forwards constantly, Its not as if we are asking alot. Just to stand still for one photo. Some of my birds hang from the perches upside down like bats.
