Posted April 11, 200916 yr I want to ring the baby's with proper leg rings what age do I do it? And what size do they have to be?
April 11, 200916 yr 5-9 days depending on size of the chick. I use 2 toe forward 2 toe back method, some use the 3 forward 1 back its really up to you. Once the ring is on make sure it does not fall off. Edited April 11, 200916 yr by Pearce

April 11, 200916 yr I ring at 8 days +/- 1 day. I use three toes forward 1 back method. You can contact the Budgerigar Society for information on the rings. The Budgerigar Socierty Web Site
April 12, 200916 yr I ring as soon as I can (usually from around 6 days). Depends on the chick and how big their foot is. Some of my top lines I've needed to ring a lot earlier than my clearwings who have thin scungee feet. Just make sure that the ring will not slip back off - if it does with reasonable ease wait and try the next day.
April 12, 200916 yr I look at ringing from 6 days onwards depending on size of chick, using the three toes forward method.
April 12, 200916 yr I RING ABOUT THE SAME AS DAZ, EIGHT DAYS ON. I FIND THE RINGS DON'T SLIP OFF AFTER THAT AGE. BUT IT REALLY IS ALNOUT THE FOOT SIZE
