Posted April 5, 200916 yr Hi, I just put in a new water dispenser for the birds. I'm trying to cut down the soiling of the water. But yesterday the birds were actually trying to bathe in the little drinking outlet. So I got out the spray bottle for them and they went absolutely beserk over it rubbing themselves all over the wire while I sprayed them. Here's some pics for you to look at, they are so cute and funny and wet. I love looking at all the pics that other people put up so I thought someone might want to check out mine. Enjoy These ones are of Zaffie actually trying to bathe in the drinking outlet before I brought out the spray bottle, funny as heck. This is Mocha rubbing herself over the wire while I sprayed her. This is Billie This is Lacey This is Ledger This is Elmo looking very indignant as he got wet only because the other birds did. This is Samuel who was cursing all the other birds for wanting a bath cause I'm pretty sure he didn't. And this is Casper who pretty much feels the same as Elmo and Casper...must be a boy thing!
April 5, 200916 yr Great pics. I love the idea of one trying to bathe in a drinker. If they want to bathe, put a smash dish in the bottom of the cage. Only have it in there for a day, but let them get it out of their system. remember, bathing on wet days is a no no _
April 5, 200916 yr remember, bathing on wet days is a no no _  Why? I'm just wondering. In the wild obviously they would only be wet on wet days, so I'm not sure why it would be so bad? Also they seem to oil their feathers more in wet weather so they would be well prepared for their baths. I just let Cosmo have a paddle in the sink because it started pouring with rain and he was trying to get to the window and was already fluffing himself up desperate for a bath :grouphug: But he dried really quickly and it was hot today despite the rain.. I don't think I'd let him paddle in winter. Also--- some of these pictures are fantastic and you should really pick one for budgie of the month! (Or, submit them over the next several months lol) Edited April 5, 200916 yr by krosp
