Posted April 1, 200916 yr Hi all! Well I have started breeding again for this year. Only have 1 pair down at the moment. They had a clutch last year dont know if anyone remembers - Pixie and Asterix? They had 2 babies, 1 recessive pied and 1 lutino. Just got the first baby for this year from them last night! Right on time, absoultly thrilled! Is an ino, as she has red eyes, and will be a hen, as it is Dad that is split lutino. They're doing really well, baby's crop was full as full at last check. They have 3 more eggs, picked up egg #2 and #3 today and could hear cheeping and pecking from both!! Yay! Not sure about egg #4. What should I expect the other babies to be? Mum is a sky blue spangle rec pied, and Dad is a dark green rec pied split lutino. Will get some photos up of Mum and Dad and baby soon! Bye!
April 2, 200916 yr Author Well now there is 2 babies!!!!! 1st one is a Ino, and the 2nd one has black eyes. Will probably be a pied as the parents are both pied and the last clutch had a beautiful rec pied so heres hoping!! #3 due on Sat and #4 due on Monday! Will get photos soon I promise
April 5, 200916 yr Author Well now we have 3 chicks!! #3 born on Saturday! #4 due today!! Heres hoping!! All going really really well, so far 1 ino and the other 2 probably pied. Pixie and Asterix are the BEST parents!
April 5, 200916 yr Ooh exciting - I am looking forward to seeing the pics of them as they grow up I'm guessing they must all be green series/lutino? You didn't mention the dad having any blue
April 5, 200916 yr Author They're all doing really well, thanks! Not sure at this stage what colour they will be, except one is definetly a Lutino, Dad is split lutino and baby #1 has red eyes. Last clutch from these parents was 1 lutino hen and a rec pied cock. Photos are to come of babies from this clutch and the last one and parents!! Really thrilled! What colours should I expect from a Sky blue spangle rec pied Hen and a Dark green rec pied cock?
April 6, 200916 yr 100%recessive pieds, all green (light or dark). Unless the male is split for blue, then you could get some sky blues and cobalts.
