Posted March 31, 200916 yr Hi. I have a chick that I am not too sure what the gender is. To me it looks like a skyblue greywing, but neither parent is greywing, so to get greywings both parents must be split greywing. They have never produced greywing before so I am doubting that this chick is actually greywing. Mother: Yellowface type 1 blue Faher: Cobalt normal split Cinnamon chick:
March 31, 200916 yr but it can not be a grey-wing Why not ? Greywing is a recessive gene and can be hidden by both parents. There is no way these markings are cinnamon Shannon
March 31, 200916 yr There is no reason why a Cinnamon cant be split Greywing. A couple of years ago i breed a nest of chicks from a similar situation. The cock was a Sky normal and the hen was a cobalt Cinnamon. I breed a Oplaine Greywing sky, Sky Greywing and a Dilute (winner of AOSV class adelaide National). Both parents i have pedigrees going back 3 generations (no Greywing) Since then that family has thrown a couple of Dilutes for me and other people.
March 31, 200916 yr Author Thankyou very much all. Im so lucky that both parents happened to be split greywing. I've never had a greywing before so I look forward to seeing him/her grow. Thankyou.

March 31, 200916 yr It is a Greywing. There are two possibilities. 1. Both parents are split for Greywing. 2. One parent is split Greywing and the other is split Dilute.
