Thanks bird_paradise I was really a bit disappointed because that was the nest I was really counting on so I just got to hope the other 3 turn out really good because they are the parents on this bird which I have high hopes for her

Nest 1..... Violet cock x opaline sky hen getting ready to lay

 

Nest 2..... Violet cock x cobalt spangle hen getting ready to lay

 

Nest 3.... Grey Dom Pied x cobalt hen just settling in but both last years birds

 

Nest 4.... Yellow DF Spangle x Cobalt spangle parents to my winners have 2 eggs

 

Nest 5.... Grey green cock x Grey opaline cinn 3 babies rung 2

 

Nest 6 .... DK green x Sky hen 4 eggs and I think they are clear so far both last years birds

Nest 12.... Grey green Op spangle cock x Viloet hen had one egg and destroyed and she has never done that before second egg due today

 

Nest 13... Grey green cock x Grey green Cinn Opaline hen have 5 eggs and they look clear

 

Nest 14 DK Green op Spangle cock x Grey green cinn Op 6 eggs only 1 fertile egg which hatched and is 8 days old

 

NOT A GOOD START TO MY BREEDING VERY DEPRESSING

Dont get down Splat, I have quite a few clear eggs in my lot too.

Most of the cocks with clear eggs i know are fertile as well. I think the crazy weather is mucking up their fertility. I am using some of them as fosters for a round, then plan to try them again after the April moult (when cocks are at their best)

Nest 2 laid their 1st egg today and

Nest 12 laid her second egg and I took hers away because she distroyed the last one and replaced it with a clear one, I put a marble in their the other day she after she destroyed the 1st so just hoping it will turn her off.

Splat take the clear eggs after 3 days & a lot of hens will keep

laying,& the fertilty might come good,I see were you a number

of clear in the nest & 1 fertile,is that the first or last egg layed.

If it was the last egg the cocks are comeing into breeding & by

removeing the clear eggs, your breeding season might turn

out okay.

What do you mean Macka 3 days after they are meant to hatch? The one fertile one was about the 4th egg layed.

Nest 11 is on her second round 1st round clear and this round is looking clear.

Macka means ( I think ) take them as soon as you see they are clear in the early stages so more eggs get laid at the end of that round of egglaying

Splat ifthe second round is not fertile.

Its 1of 2 things,the cock is not fertile

or the hen is not mateing up to the cock.

The cock was fertile last year but he is 04 ring and I really haven't seen them mate up she seems to come out of the nest box only for a second a kiss and smooch and she is back in again normally she wood come out and lower herself for him so I am blaming her at this stage.

04 rung he would of gone to the bird dealer 2 years ago,

Yes they are all from good blood , I don't have pet budgies haven't the space. The foster parents are these 2 which I was hoping to get young from the hen is Watson blood and the cock Henry George blood

Look this one is already preening

They are between 12 and 17 days old all look green
