Seed, Soft Food And Water Dishes.

Hi.

Im curious to know what others use to clean out their dirty bird dishes. Do you use plain water? Or dishwashing liquid? Or somthing else?

What do you use

Thankyou.

I put their food dishes in the dish washer :)

Clean water drinkers with hot water and let dry in sun.

I clean seed dishes only when they get dirty, normally clean them with hot soapy water.

You can use anything that is dish safe, as long as its rinsed well :lightbulb:

I have a sink plumbed into my birdroom. Everything gets washed in plain water with a huge splash of vinegar added.

I give soft food to all my birds daily so every day I gather them up and wash them with washing up liquid followed by a thorough rinse. I use the upturned jars as seed hoppers and they get cleaned every 2 months or so.

Does your budgie club have a products table where they sell budgie equipment and meds Pearce ?

....most budgie clubs I know sell these feeders and many other things like this at prices below petshop prices.

Thankyou Kaz I will have to have a look. I have only been to the show once and their were only birds on display and for sale. I will go to the next meeting and see.

Just a note, if you using the same type of seed dispensing attachment as I am, I've discovered the the homebrand pickled onions from safeway is only $1.56 and there a nice large jar and they fit onto the plastic dispenser. I find this handy because I just pick up a couple every now and then whilst at the supermarket instead of having to wait until a show etc. I feel I little guitly when I empty the contents into the bin but I'm not a huge pickled onion eater and it was the cheapest item I could find in the supermarket with a large jar which fitted onto the plastic dispenser. Anyway hope this helps.
