Plucking Her Own Feathers

Featured Replies

For the past few weeks everytime I've cleaned out the bird cage I have seen wing feathers laying at the bottom on it, they are yellow, so they are definetly Lemons. Her flight feathers had come back so the other night I clipped her wings and she had a few bald patches where she had been pulling them out..

Why would she be self mutilating herself? She dosn't seem bored or depressed, since Confetti has been in the same cage as her she's been keep herself busy on him, grooming one another and so on, playing with the toys. Is there anyway to stop her pulling her feathers?

have you got a photo of her?? she might be having a bad moult or have lice issues. plucking in budgies is not all that common, especially when they are not alone.

I agree with Liv...plucking in budgies is rare and unless you actually see her do it, I would say something else is going on.
