Why Is She Doing It?

Kiwi my 5 month old female does this thing when ever I'm by the cage she like goes realy low down and stiff with her head in the air. She also beak thrusts the bars when I'm near her or if I put my finder in she'll beak thrust, Is that normal??

Sounds to me like she is anxious or feeling threatened. Aggressive hens head thrust with an open beak to attack or defend themselves. Stretched out head sounds like she is scanning for threats and poised to fight or flight.

Where abouts is your bird situated? Are there people or animals who frighten her? Is she alone? Is she high up or low? All sorts of things may be doing it. She could also be hormonal, coming into puberty or going through a cycle.

Her beak is shut when she trusts like when male court females, She is in a cage on her own mid hight but I aproach the cages on my knees to be lower than them. And her siblings are in the same room as her but different cages. But she's going into her molt and she laid an egg a few weeks back.
