How long after you've dyed your hair is it safe to allow your budgies to chew/preen you hair again? I'm asking this because a few love to preen my hair and I just dyed it yesterday, so how long do I have to wait to allow them to do it again without risking poisoning them?

I would doubt anyone would know the answer to that without testing it on a budgie and that could be dangerous....maybe after 6 washes of your hair ?

Okay thanks anyway. I think I will leave it for a bit, like a month (I've heard stories about people who dyed their hair a few weeks before they let their budgie chew on it and the bird died) to be on the safe side.

I have always been told that one the hair dye has set, which means that when you wash it with shampoo and the bubbles stay white or at least 2 weeks. this is the rule that I have always used and never had an issue
