so i have an adult budgie

i got her a few days ago

she seems to be settled in

she is eating okay and drinking well

i have finger trained her and she likes to ride on my shoulder.

how will i be able to strengthen our bond

and i think i taught her how to whitsle

Give her time to adjust. Let her hang out with you while you do everyday things. If she's not nervous about hanging out on your shoulder that's fine, just make sure she isn't getting stressed out.

 

As her personality shows more you'll find new ways to bond. It just depends on what she likes. Since she's so new it would probably be best to take things slow and easy and at her pace.

i agree sounds like you have only just got this budgie and as she is an adult the process of FULLY taming her will take a long time. you need to take things very slowly with her otherwise she may become frightened of you.

 

dont be disappointed if she starts biting. a lot of budgies are biters, especially females. it just means that you may have to give her more time and put a little more into your training than normal
