Thankyou All for the comments. Nerwen, which one is the yellowface domiant pied? I Never knew I had a dominant pied.

I love that bird too :D Isn't she soo proud of herself LOL

Great pics :D

Oh yes that little one. Do you think she is a violet? Yellowface violet dominant pied?

She was a pet bird caught in the wild (Escaped with her sister from someones home) This is her sister, a violet yf spangle? avairy.jpg

Wings are definite spangle just not sure if they are violet or not.

Bred by myself. Father is recessive pied light green and mother is dark green cinnamon spangle. She is 6 months old and has 8 brothers and sisters.

This green fella is her brother

Is the dom pied actually a clearflight pied?

  • Author

Does anyone know if it is violet? is she a clearflight pied or dom pied?

Yes I would think Violet with those shots, as their blue is darker than the normal cobalt.

She is an Australian Dominant Pied - different to the clearflight pied

  • Author

okay thanks very much *Nerwen*. I do not know how to tell dom and clearflight pieds apart YET

Really appreciate the shots Pearce, they look great and help put description to bird,[ i'm such a novice ] I love your color.

The start of scaly face here Pearce.......

Yes I saw that a week ago kaz, he was treated last week.

Thankyou.

i wouldnt think the pied was violet here is my violet spangle yf2 next to a normal vishual violet cock infact he is cinnamon so you can see that even with the cinnamon he is defenently violet

the yf2he is violet but still only i tend to call him cobalt as he is not so purple as my other vishuals

birrdiesagain161.jpg note the patch colour

also i thought it was a clearflited pie

the diffrence is that doms are ment to have no spots ,clearflights do ....but i have never gotten that dom clearflight thing myself personally

they are but the same i was to belive till i came on here to be told they are diffrent

i still dont see how ???????

I dont see how either, they both have clear flight feathers and both look the same. I havent been able to spot the difference. What do you think my bird is genericblue? Cobalt? she looks to dark for cobalt but to light for mauve to me.
