Posted March 12, 200916 yr The new issue date in Australia is the 1st September this year. This is for all 2010 rung birds. For those that are trying to decide on when they need to pair there birds to have birds ready toi be rung for the issue date, here is some ideas. IF your pairing is successful and you have eggs at 10 days. IF the eggs are fertile and the first laid hatches at 20days. IF the chick develops and can be successfully rung at 8days. Then you need to pair up on the 25th July. For me, I'll be leting the birds decide and try pairing around the beginning of July.
March 12, 200916 yr I am putting some pairs down now for breeding and some in july, but the ones i do now will get red rings, what does that mean as far as showing goes.. Does the ring date affect the ability to show?? are the birds i breed now be unable to show properly??
March 12, 200916 yr Quality birds are still quality birds regardless of the ring colour. Pair your birds when in breeding condition to give you the greatest chances of improving!!!
March 12, 200916 yr Author Total agree with Heath, But for me at the moment the rest till July will give me a chance to sort out the birds and give those that have done well a chance to rest before the next season. Edited March 12, 200916 yr by Daz
