Hi all

can you worm birds with apple cider vinegar.I heard that bird wormer kills the worms but doesn't clear them all out of the birds body and that apple cider vinegar does clear them out of the birds body and kills them as well i have not tried apple cider vinegar yet but if is safe for budgies and other birds i will.

ps.do you worm your birds? just wondering if you do.

and if anyone can tell me some of the signs that they start showing pleas tell me that too.

thanks BH

I know apple cidar vinegar cleans the birds insides out, Im not sure if it worms them or not. I give it to mine weekly and it keeps them healthier. Alot of breeders use ACV and I believe it to be really good.

I do worm my budgies.

I would say no because if it did many of our advanced breeders would proably do it but lets see what they say.

There are many benefits though to Apple Cider and I know that Neat had posted the article on BBC.

Neat's Topic on Apple Cider

I believe Blackcurrant cordial is a 'natural' wormer. :D

I put apple cider vinegar in the water because the tap water where I live is slightly alcaline and the acid content of the vinegar neutralises it. :)

i give my budgies it but i give my breeding budgies 6 drops in the water

but the birds in the avary get 4 drops in there water

like Pearce i know apple cidar vinegar cleans the birds insides out

that is way i give it to my breeders a lot

yes i do worm my budgies/all birds

thanks all for infomation and if eny one can ell me signs that they start showing pleas tell me

Then there's a good dose of the peppercorn tree which is full of goodies - the seeds / branches are a natural wormer, and they ARE poisenous. I would look it up on the net, but it is natural, and comes in unmedicated / controlled doses ( a bit like wattle bark instead of asprin)

Food for thought, or I just being a pain?
