Posted March 8, 200916 yr http://www.news.com.au/couriermail/story/0...094-952,00.html Why do we elect these people to supposedly represent us? How can we remove them from office when they don't?
March 9, 200916 yr I voted NO too and I don't even live there. Geez I wish people could get real lives. It makes me laugh at how pathetic some people can be. Edited March 9, 200916 yr by dek21
March 9, 200916 yr Well that is just ridiculous. I would be attending the council meetings and voicing my concern. I would consider a vote of no confidence should this idea gain momentum. I have kept pigeons....noise? What the? I have kids in my street that are far noisier that anything the birds can come up with.
March 9, 200916 yr This is disgraceful. I bet nobody would even consider banning cats or dogs in a whole district, because they're widely known to be such beloved pets that they are part of the family and everyone would be outraged. Why don't people view birds in the same way? Plus, it's an entire class of animals - not even just specific species of birds that can't be kept. That is crazy!
March 9, 200916 yr Our home is surrounded by parks, bushland and huge huge gumtrees. The noise from the parrots is something we get used to. Its natural. Once, when we were talking to neighbours, we asked if the sound of our birds bothered them....They said "what noise ?" So, if there are trees and parrots and birds within a neighbourhood then people get used to hearing birds and think nothing of it. I guess as household blocks get smaller and houses get closer together then little things get under peoples skin. Just like other peoples cats laying on top of my bird aviary used to get under mine just a little. My cats didnt do it, but stray toms did. Having the dogs here stopped all of that. Anyway...I voted NO too
