We Got A Place!

For those who were following my other thread... we got approved for a townhouse we really wanted today! To rent. It's not the house I fell in love with through photos in January, but this is a better location anyway, and is amazing for the price.

So happy!!!

And we put on our application that we had a budgie, and they've accepted it, so I am guessing that means it's okay to have him there? They didn't say anything like "you've been approved but you can't keep the bird there" so... I'm assuming we can!

WOO!! congratulations!!!

If they have signed it and it was stated in the contract that you have a budgie then they have approved him too. If they missed the part about Cosmo in the contract, then that's their fault for not reading what they were signing and you will get to have him there all the same.

Awesome news!!

They can't have missed it... We wrote "1 budgie" under the part that says pets, and we had a whole paragraph about him in our cover letter about how we will ensure he doesn't cause damage or disturbance.

Great news ;)

Anyone who denies a rental on the basis of a budgie would be nuts anyway

You would be suprised how much this happens. The last lady that rented our flat sent us this 5 page document on her two birds. She even said that if need be she should keep them confided to the cage so they did not cause any distruction.

We where like... "whatever can I meet your birds?" But she had been knocked back a few times because of her ying and yang. (two of the best behaved Budgies I have ever met!)

We also had a lady a while back who had a few birds in a FLight cage they where pretty much wild and where not let out of the cage and again she got knocked back by a few people before she rented off us.

krosp - if you wrote it on the application they can't change their mind now! Congrats can't wait to see pictures of your new "cage" and comso now home! ;)
