Pied Masked Lovebirds

Featured Replies

Hey hows everyone going. I have been flat out working lately so havent got on much except for a sneak peak here and there.

Thought Id throw up some pics now I have time. Finally got(bred) my second pied lovebird so fingers crossed I can breed some more in the future. It has renewed my interest in these little birds :budgiedance: My original one is a green pied (although its yellow and orange) some of you may have seen her. I need to catch this one up and try and sex it.

Anyone know a good forum/links that has info on these, IVe tried on a few but not many people know of the mutations just the normals. I have no idea how the gene works, Recessive by the looks of it as it came from a pied x norm/pied

It wasnt born pied like a pied budgie would be (that I noticed) but seems to be moulting out more and more as the white areas are growing

Anyway thats all for this, I'll try to get some budgie pics up now :D

Wow Pie he/she is GORGEOUS!!!!! The cobalt masked is my fave variety of Lovebird, and the pied version is simply gorgeous!!

The mutation of this Agapornis Personatus is called "mottle", tends to become white in the blue and yellow to green. Is a very rare mutation, occurs after about one year after birth and only in females . I enclose a picture of my mottle

My AGA has two years, has already spawned 10 small personatus. Now I hope that her daughter is like her.
