A Present For Av

Last year we bred my horse and she did not get pregnant, we did all the tests and nothing. So we decided to rest her and then try agian this year. However she has not being coming into season so we where thinking about bringing her home and giving her a year off. Today the lady went out to catch her to float her home and there in the stable was a little filly! Four white socks and a white face!

We have no clue what happened, we figure the vet must have "missed" seeing the foal when he did the test. Either way this is great! I am so happy!

Once I get some pictures I will post them!

Congrats mate, a little filly with heaps of chrome, couldnt have asked for more. All my horses have been chestnuts except my very first was a black.

Not something a vet should miss though or the lady looking after the mare.

What sort of breeding was it? Racehorse, showhorse or pet?

He is a polo pony, father was a racehorse mother was a arab.

As for the vet I have no clue what is going on.

As for the lady looking after her, I don't hold this against her, Holly has a habit of faking being in foal so when we where told that she was not in foal the fact that she got fat and milked up was just par for the course for her. She is the type of mare the really likes being up the duff even when she is not her body acts as if it is! ^_^

Awww, how exciting for you. Congratulations and I can't wait for the photos!

Excellent should be a handy little horse, I dont mind the anglos. Who is the polo player in the house? Or will you lease her out. Cant wait for pics also

My dad and three brothers use to play, my Dad was the captain for the Victorian team at one state and also the Australian team whent he USA came out and they played them years and years ago. My Bad also breed horses and his pride and joy was Silver our stallion. He passed away in '92 but only days before that he got Holly's mum pregant and she was the last foal to hit the ground from him.

I got her and rode her for a while and then due to my prolaspe disc was told to stop so we dicided to breed from her. Michelle who has her late husband Brice and Dad where great friends. After Brice died alot of people took their horses back from her and his son and her where left with no horses so we came to the agreement that they choose who to breed her to, they birth and raise the foals, break them in and ride them. i still own them and have the final say on sales but we then split the cost. Holly's last foal I got a really good offer for but Brices son called me begging me not to sell him so i will not. They are finally getting the communities confidence back. i think people thought Brice was the brains behind the op and she was just there for the ride but in fact she is fantastic with horses and his son is an amazing polo player.

Sounds good, are they keeping the colt for stud or work? Got any pics of the mare?

Holly's first bub we gelded and we are keeping as a player for brices son. The new filly we will keep and see what to do with her.

I need to get out and get some pictures over the next few weeks. I think i had some of Spike but not sure when they are.

Oh AV thats AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations!!!!
