Middle tail pins have to be clear colour...not darker for spangles....like this DSCF1077.jpg
Perfect timing Kaz :D Thanks for the post and picture!

Edit:

Also, without wanting to throw a spanner into the works, I cant see YF?Are you assuming all chicks are YF or can you evidently see yellow head and/or tail/wing pins? I cant see it, maybe its just my comp resolution or the time of night. Two YF1's will produce 50% YF1, 25% b1b1 and 25%b2b2. Technically there is no such thing as DF YF1 as i have just posted in a huge post elsewhere. YF1 are a combination mutation like fullbody clearwing which are one clearwing and one greywing gene, co-dominant and express differently together than two clear wing or two greywing genes do. Except two b1 genes produce a whtie faced blue, and two b2 genes produce a white faced blue. Together, they produce YF1 (b1b2). So if your cock is b1b1 and your hen is b1b1, you will get no YF1. Same if your cock is b2b2 and your hen is b2.If your cock is b1b1 and your hen is b2b2 all chicks will be b1b2 or YF1.Hope that makes sense.

Are they fostered.

Chick 1) YF grey cock ( i think), split oplaine and cinnamon. who enjoys carrots ;)

P1020569a.jpg

Chick 2) YF Cinnamon Grey opaline hen, who also enjoys carrots :)

P1020580a.jpg

Chick 3) YF Double Factor Spangle hen, masking oplaine cinnamon.

Sadly this chick is sick. it has been for quite some time. it has issues with its eyes.

I have been to the vet with her twice already , and they suspect psittacosis :) Hopfully she

will respond to the doxy. None of the other birds (including her siblings) are showing symptoms.

About time i updated on the babies...

I dont have photos of them all, but all but three are in the kindy cage now :D The last three are very close to going in.

Here are some shots of babies in the kindy cage

This is the one who was on Doxy for suspected psittacosis. It was not Psittacosis as her eyes

didn't stop watering while on the antibiotic. She had an allergic reaction to something

in the breeding cabinet. Now that she is in the kindy cage, her eyes are dry and she

is doing great :D

Round two is well under way with 3 hens laying their second clutch. we were going to

shut down breeding over winter, but have since decided to keep it going. We will be

pairing more birds in the next few days :D
