Hi guys,

 

I have just checked the nest box again and have discovered that there are now 8 eggs in there! Isn't that too many for one clutch? She started laying 2 weeks ago, the 1st being due to hatch in 4 days time. I am just concerned that she is still going to be laying when the 1st ones hatch, provided they didn't cook in the heat we had.

 

Anything I should be doing?

They stop when eggs begin to hatch..usually. Also they may not all be fertile, so its the old "dont count your chickens before they hatch" philosophy
