Posted February 14, 200916 yr I'm going to a club lunch today and the bloke has said he's happy to give me a few of his culls. Of course initially they won't be in the aviary but eventually they will and I don't want to overdo it because I'm pretty close to my limit already I suspect. Dimensions are 3 metres long X 2.5metres wide X 1.8-2metres high(pitched roof) I have plenty of perches, etc of course and of course no nest boxes. Anyone want to give me an idea of how many would be happy cos I'm no good at working it out
February 15, 200916 yr I am with Kaz on this one, too many and they get a bit crowded and then they get stressed and sick. How many do you have in there now MB?
February 15, 200916 yr Author About 50, wasn't going to put many more as I want to leave space for a few chicks but just wanted to make sure 2 or 3 extra wouldn't be stretching it too much as I wanted a couple of big normals to put with some of my birds. By the time next spring/summer season comes around I'll hopefully be preparing to move to won't be much breeding happening this year anyway. Should add too that once my breeding finishes after this round my breeding cages will be packed away and my smaller aviary will become flight space so some will move, so it will be back to 50ish in the big one then anyway even if I got some extra now and breed a few Edited February 15, 200916 yr by melbournebudgies
February 15, 200916 yr There is a difference between "what will fit" in there and " whats best in there" It will fit 80 but best is 60 Edited February 15, 200916 yr by KAZ
