Bonding

Featured Replies

When bonding is it 3 weeks you should allow before you try another cock to the hen if they haven't bonded?

if it is a bonded hen and cock and your wanting to break the bond is it 3 weeks before they will?

Also how much time would\ be needed if the cock and hen are bonded if you wanted to bond to another for breeding? would it be 6 weeks? 3 weeks to break the bond then another 3 weeks to bond again?

Thank You

From my experience it isn't an exact science as to the time frame of hen accepts a cock. I have a hen that would mate with anyone if she was allowed to. It depends on the bird and their temperment. I was at GB's place last week, and I had a crack up moment. She has a hen with 2 cocks that have bonded to her. Both cocks were preeing her at the same time! Threesomes?!?!?

LMAOokay thanks mate guess I could just try 1 month to lose bond, then 1 month to rebond to another. if they both fail I switch and keep swtiching till they do the nasty.

Time to lose a bond ....one month ? My bird dont have an issue with that ...... I never have to give them time out to lose a bond...they are always eager for the next partner.
