I put these two together.......

6 eggs but four were infertile...two left

One hatched today.

So, DF Spangle to SF spangle apparently gives 50% DF spangles and 50% SF spangles. What does the cinnamon do to those percentages.

Hi Kaz

since the hen is sex linked and the cock is not you will get

Cocks will be split to cinnamon. Hens will not have it at all.

A DF can only throw spangles, so you pretty much have this

Hen Cock

SN x SS

Result

SS or SN

meaning that 50% will be DF spangles, and 50% will be spangles.

Pearce is right about the cinnamon as well. The cocks will be split, but the hens will be unaffected by it.

What if the Dad is split cinnamon ?

Edited by KAZ

If the dad is split cinnamon:

25% cinnamon cocks

25% / cinnamon cocks

25% cinnamon hens

25% non cinnamon hens.

Should be a good pairing. The Double factor Cinnamon birds will have less suffusion as the cinnamon gene will lighten this. It's a good pairing for double factors.

Remind me who the birds are Kaz. I like the hen, she has good shoulders.

The hen is by DODGEY BROS. The cock is an ARMSTRONG. :)

I agree that it's a nice pairing and I actually would say there was a reasonable chance the cock was cinnamon given how clean he is in the feathers. What colour eyes does your chick have?

The breeder I got the cock from uses cinnamon spangles in his DF spangle breeding so chances are high he is split cinnamon. As the chick hatched at last nights nest checking I will have to go and see now what colour eyes it has... :).....no chick has black eyes.

i will love to see same of the baby soon

Hi if the hen is opaline all cocks will be split opaline also.

You crack me up woman. LOL I needed that thanks.

Although you already know...... I'll play along

I could be wrong but I;m pretty sure that you have the answers though your own topic in breeding expectations. Or have I just drank too many pina coladas in my time of stress. Either way you still make me laugh. My guess is if dad is split 25% male cins, 25% male norms, 25% female cins, 25% female norms.

And the eyes will only stay pink in a cin chick within 3 to 5 days of hatching, but Kazzy's cin chick is spinning me out because her new cin chick still has pink eyes still after 1.5 weeks. And all my cin chicks, which I breed alot of, the 5th day eyes darken, and with fleding eyes are normal.

The hen is a Spangle opaline. Very good pairing Kaz. I look forward to the results. ^_^

Two chicks hatched and two adopted babies in there too.

Keep an eye out for Cinnamon Eyes. They will be the Double factors.

When a Double Factor Spangle Chcik is hatched it has Cinnamon / red / pink eyes for the first few days. (My colour blindness is showing)

It is one way of quickly telling what the chicks may be.
