Posted February 1, 200916 yr Can somebody please tell me if what sex these budgies are. I did my best with the photos dam birds ketp moving and stuff. I hope photos are good enough to sex. Male or female I think female. Budgie 1 Budgie 1 Budgie 2 I think female but I don't know cos its about half as blue as a normal male. ****edited...typo in title. Budgies is spelt BUDGIES not BUDIES Edited February 1, 200916 yr by KAZ
February 1, 200916 yr I think they're both female too. The second one clearly is... the first one I can't see the photo well enough cos it's too small but it seemed brown, in which case it would be female
February 1, 200916 yr Author great thanks if you click on the photo it goes to a bigger picture. I will try and do a better one tomorrow. Edited February 1, 200916 yr by KAZ please do noit use shortcuts ...staff have to keep editing your posts.
February 1, 200916 yr great thanks if you click on the photo it goes to a bigger picture. I will try and do a better one tomorrow. Bigger pictures are still too small and too little cere detail for accurate sexing of birds. Please repost closeups of cere if you want accurate sexing.
February 1, 200916 yr All budgies look like hens to me. The last one looks to be a hen out of condition. The photos are quite hard to see so maybe if you posted better photos it would be easier to sex them.
February 2, 200916 yr Author I hope these are beter. You have to click on image to get the 640 size. The grey one. Budgie 1 Male or Female. Female I think as cere is white at bottom but brown and at top but not very dark. Budgie 3 male I think as the cere is much more brown from top to bottom. Edited February 2, 200916 yr by Dragonx
February 2, 200916 yr Looks like a hen, Could be a male with testicular cancer too as your descriptioon is slightly vague and photos distant. Do you know how to do closeup photos or how to edit by cropping the photo for a close up of the "face"of the budgie ?
February 2, 200916 yr Author which one u you refering to as there is 2 different grey ones there, and I can't get any closer as the 640 size on my camera don't zoom and have no idea to zoom in the on the to edit it. February 2, 200916 yr Both grey birds look like hens to me. However, Kaz is right about male birds having brown ceres when they have testicular issues. Here is a picture of a male with the brown on part of his cere - the brown can completely cover the cere hiding the blue all together Edited February 2, 200916 yr by **Liv**
February 2, 200916 yr Livs posted picture is a very good reason why we ask for closeup cere pictures before sexing birds. No point putting two boys in a breeder cage together of you want eggs
February 4, 200916 yr Author What mutation are these both? Green factor I take the green one is? and what about the gray one?
February 4, 200916 yr Green one looks like a light green, 0 dark factors the darker green one looks more like an olive than a grey green to me. 2 dark factors. Do you have any better pictures of this one? What colour is the tail
February 5, 200916 yr Author I mean this grey one I don't know where you think this one is green. But anyway what are the two types in this one mutation that is. Green factor I guess and I dont know the grey one. But I have to of them and there both females I think. The one of the left Green factor I think and what is the one in the middle. Both there tails are like black. Edited February 5, 200916 yr by Dragonx
February 5, 200916 yr The one on the left is either olive or grey green. If the tail is black then he must be greygreem
