Tcb Breeding

Featured Replies

Hi,

My sister and I want to start trying to breed TCB. We have a few to start off with.

Can you tell me how we breed to get TCB's, DO you put them with normals to get splits or do you need to put 2 x TCB's together?

Any help appreciated..

Tcb is sex linked so if you paired a tcb male to a normal female you should get baby tcb hens. Also the cocks would be split tcb.

Am I correct?

Cocks would be split if the hen was a TCB

You would get TCB hens if the cock was a TCB or split to TCB

okay Sounds confusing, but i think i get it. Does anyone have a diagram or table that shows what may happen.

Also if this info also includes Dominant Pieds and Recessive pieds, that would be great too.

Thanks

You may have already read my thread but I have bred an Albino Hen to a T.C.B. cock..here is the thead:

http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....showtopic=23059

This pairing gives the following result:

25% Clearbody/Ino cocks

25% Ino cocks

25%Clearbody hens

25% Ino hens

I have ended up with 2 Albino hens and a T.C.B. cock.

From the Faq -

Sex Linked Mating Table

Sex Linked Varieties: Albino, Lutino, Opaline, Cinnamonwing,

Lacewing, Clearbody, Slate.

SL Cock X SL Hen

= SL Cocks

= SL Hens

SL Cock X Normal Hen

= Normal/SL Cocks

= SL Hens

Normal Cock X SL Hen

= Normal/SL Cocks

= Normal Hens

Normal/SL Cocks X Normal Hen

= Normal Cocks

= Normal/SL Cocks

= SL Hens

= Normal Hens

NB: Visually you will not be able to tell which

normals are also split for the SL gene

Normal/SL Cocks X SL Hen

= SL Cocks

= Normal/SL Cocks

= SL Hens

= Normal Hens

Dominant and Recessive Pieds are not sex-linked genes, so it works different.
