is it safe to pair up a show budgie and a pet type budgie can the pet type get squoshed when the sow budgie mates with her

It is safe. A lot of times I will Pair a long bird to a short bird.

Its fine. the babies from show and pet crosses come out nice too - they look like quality pet types without the buffness of a show type. I used to blend all the time :)

My Merlin I believe is a mix of a pet and show :D
