Posted January 28, 200916 yr Tomorrow is the big day when Jadon starts school, he is so excited and nervous at the same time tonight. It took a while for me to get him to sleep. I am very anxious about it and really hope he settles in well to a new environment. As some members know Jadon has Aspergers Disorder so it was a hard decision to make about sending him to school, i thought about holding him back a year but nsw laws do not allowed it and i also thought about homeschooling him but he wants to go to school with his brother and sister . i really hope i have made the right decision for him and he copes with going to school. The last couple of weeks he has been having wee accidents so i am praying they stop once he gets used to going to school. I would love lots of good thoughts and prayers for him and myself. while i am writing this i am getting teary eyed, i think i will be a totally mess tomorrow.
January 28, 200916 yr Oh, you poor thing Deb! But I'm sure Jadon will be fine tomorrow, and he'll love being at"big school" with his big brother and sister! Try not to worry too much. Treat yourself to a special outing while he's at school. Will be thinking of you - let us know how he went!
January 28, 200916 yr i also thought about homeschooling him but he wants to go to school with his brother and sister . You said it right there - he wants to go so at the end of the day you must have made the right choice as he wants to do it which means he must feel ready. Good luck, I hope he settles in quickly.
January 28, 200916 yr Awww, mate. He'll be right as rain. He'll settle in no problems I'm sure. I know you'll struggle, but we're all here for you. Once you find out how much fun he had on his first day, it will be a breeze for the both of you after that. Even though you don't need it... I'll be praying for you all and keeping you in my thought. Biggest hugs luv You know where I am if you need me!
January 28, 200916 yr Deb, how exciting yet I am sure you are filled with anxiety and worry, he is going to do great and you know what if he doesn't that is okay, say to yourself this is a step toward a better day and if he does great it is even better. Under your mom supervision and care he will thrive .
January 29, 200916 yr According to Deb's husbands facebook page... really well!!! Come on Deb... we all want to know details!!!
January 30, 200916 yr Author Thanks for asking how Jadon went, i have been busy the last couple of days so sorry for not replying early. He has gone so much better than i thought he would. He was happy and had no tears when i left him at school. The first 2 days were only half days so it will be interesting to see how he goes next week when he is there all day. He did not wet his pants at all which i am very pleased about. After his first day i asked him if he like it and he said yes and then i said he gets to go back again and he said" Oh, not another day, i think i will just go to school 2 days a week like preschool"
