Posted January 20, 200916 yr This is my baby! JD Most people will guess JD stands for Jack Daniels, Alas I do not drink so it does not stand for that. It stands for John Dorian! - Scrubs fans will know who he is. Here he is perched on his door. This morning he fell off my shoulder outside and when I brought him back inside my Girlfriend found his tail feather which he had just grown. There was blood coming from the tip of it and I was a little worried as I know blood feathers can be fatal. He seems okay at the moment. Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself and JD. Hopefully we will be around here more often. Cheers Laurie

Also your cage looks to be a round one like pictured here: http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....showtopic=17858 the tapered bars at the top can allow your little guy to get his feet stuck in between the bars, you might want to invest in a roomier better suited one. I hope he JD is o.k. and hope to see more of you both on the forum! Edited January 20, 200916 yr by Trish
January 20, 200916 yr i love scrubs!!! ive got the first 3 seasons and looking to get more! he looks great
January 20, 200916 yr Author Trish - I couldn't see any bleeding from the feather. I have available to me a cage that is similiar to CAGE NINE on the page you linked to me, it is pretty old, and the paint has rusted a little. I don't like the round cage, but the bird and cage were given as a birthday present. At the moment he can't fly very well, if at all and me or my girlfriend get JD out when ever we can and when ever he is willing. krosp - I got him in November 2008 - He was about 4 weeks old when I got him everyone else: thanks for the warm welcome!
January 20, 200916 yr Hi, welcome It would be good idea for you to get a newer cage for JD. You mentioned that there is a little rust on his cage, rust is poisonous for budgies
January 20, 200916 yr Author Hi, welcome It would be good idea for you to get a newer cage for JD. You mentioned that there is a little rust on his cage, rust is poisonous for budgies The rust isnt on his current cage, it's on an older cage that i want to use as his. What about removing the rust and repainting the cage? Would a bigger cage be better even though he is still a baby?

I haven't repainted before so I can't really give any advice on this, sometimes you can pick up good, cheap cages from GO'LO or Cheap as Chips or similar discount stores. My favorite which I use as breeding cages I bought for only $40. It has a big door at the front for easy access and a flat top and you can put a playgym on there if you like!
January 20, 200916 yr sorry but, Trish I have 4 of them cages laying around.. and I'm using 5 more as my quarantine cages and I used one to make my bigger flight cage (the one i made the other day) They are great! lol I got mine from The Warehouse and only paid $35 each for them..
