Changed My Aviary

Featured Replies

Last week i moved all the budgies to one aviary and change the setup of my other aviary. i have changed the direction it was facing so i could have a safety door and more room for storing my spare cages. i still have to finish the middle section but here are some before and after photos.

That is a great improvement it is amazing the difference that it has made, I love how you have little pot plants in there, is his just sprouted seed?

yes, it is just bird seed i have planted in the pots but my budgies take a long time to eat it.

Can't go bad if it is still growing though I suppose that's the best thing!

That looks great Deb!. So I take it you'll enclose the middle section between the two for your safety section? Brilliant idea and I'm sure it will make the world of difference. Great job! How are the 'mice' going???

The middle section will get enclosed, i will get some more tin for the roof and back wall and a door at the front. I am finally getting the better of the mice, yesterday i was hosing the avairies out and a mouse came out of a very tiny hole so i kept hosing it to stop it from escaping out of the breeding room while Michael grabbed a piece of wood and whacked it. Then as he was killing it another mouse came running out of the small hole so he got it as well. I have blocked the hole now so hopefully it is the last i will see of them.

:D Hopefully with all the disturbance, the might show them selves and you'll finally see the end of them.

Deb, that looks so fantastic !! Looks really professional and like a purpose built aviary complex. You have to be so pleased with the end result. Well done !! :)

I agree it looks wonderful, great job.

It has taken awhile but my aviary is finally finished. I decided to remove the wall from the big aviary to give them more flying room.
