Today my budgie zeus has been making this bizzare noise all day and now night, it sounds like hes heavy breathing/crying or wheezing?? Hes usually a very happy noisy budgie and plays with his other brothers, now he just sits on the perch by himself wanting to be left alone or on the bottom of it...This morning i spotted a cat in our yard so maybe zeus got a bit of a fright??

How's his bum- dirty or clean? Is he fluffed up? Any stainging above the cere? Anything else you can tell us...

That sounds can often be a lack of iodine if it is determined it isnt a respiratory problem.

What do his poos look like?

He looks normal apart from being slightly fluffed up and has lots of pin feathers coming thru...He is still acting the same..slightly hunched over and wanting to be left alone in the corner Making that weird noise too.

Iodine can be added to water ( aqueous iodine in the water ) or iodine blocks added to the cage to be chewed upon.

Sounds like moulting and that can be a time for some budgies where they can get so unwell that a small minority of them actually die if an owner doesnt keep a close watch on the signs. As Elly has said...poos ? What is he like in regard to poos and in regard to bodyweight ? I would have him in a cage with a warm lamp at this stage ....25 to 40 watt globe ) and white paper under his perch so you can watch and assess his poops for signs of bad health. If once you have done this he shows signs of issues with his poop, weight loss, and still unwell...I would have to to the vet ASAP. If he is really unwell, try not to prolong the assessment phase and act fast.
