Jealous Triangle?

I was hoping things would smooth over when I got the bigger can. What happened is Pretty has started chasing Shelfie. Whenever Dave and Shelfie are flirting with some simultaneous head-bobbing Pretty charges Shelfie. Thing Shelfie goes back to Pretty and starts head-bobbing Pretty. Pretty charges and they exchange clashes of the beak. It's like low key no one is getting hurt. I think they both really like Dave. I don't know really.

Do you guys no what's going on? Would a second male help smooth things over or just complicate matters further?

Best guess?

Is this common hen behavior?

Thanks,

Summer

Have you tried to increase the cover time of their cage to 12-14 hours, this can help throw off the hormones.

Yes, this is common behavior.

Yes it sounds pretty normal to me, and I would consider getting another male only if you have the space and time for it. But they may not automatically form into two pairs but might still fight over Dave and ignore the new guy, so you might find you'd have to separate them into two cages until they bonded into pairs before putting them back together again.
