Is it normal for budgie to sit/sleep like this - hunched and fluffed kinda, but still on one leg?

Im really not having any luck with my birds. Im really thinking about throwing in the towel :)

Was that taken today? If so could be due to the heat... Len was like that after I moved her and Lip in... it past in a couple of days... but I'm no expert, maybe others will know sooner...

I have moved all the birds inside now where it is cool (I have a GREAT aviary!!! :)) so it shouldnt be the heat. Its happened now that is inside.

It came into work today. He looks like he is trying to sleep like that??!The other bird that came with it looks fine.

Just a guess, he maybe too young?

He doesnt look well mate...hows his butt and bodyweight. I think he may have been sold too young and may not be eating well yet.

He's not that young. Already starting to get an iris. (actually its a she lol). weight isnt bad, bum was clean this morning. Checked it again just now and it had abit of poo stuck to it. COuld it be worms? Cause I treated them with ivermectin this arvo.He isnt quite as agile (a little clumsy climbing up the cage well) as the other bird (which is much older).

Seed and sprouts at the momentIve just trimmed all his bum feathers too

Put a warm lamp by him and give him a drop of calcivet to the beak :)

It will take the pressure of him regulating hisown body temp and give him a chance to recover from whatever is ailing him. Whatcolour are his poops?

Umm dunno really. when they are dry they are dark. But normal I guess. Will the light keep him up?ARg i gotta go to bed. Also its warm outside, should I just put him out there tonight?

No the breeze outside is not good if he is sick. In the words of someones vet here (can't remember who), if the light bothers him he'll close his eyes :)

That's how Pretty looked shortly after I got her. She got so bad she was just sitting on the floor with her head hanging down. It happened in a matter of like 2 hours. She made no protest when I picked her up. She collasped in my hand. I really thought she was dying. I cried buckets while my husband phoned for vets. Amazingly after a half hour she "woke up" so I put her back in her cage. The towel, lamp, and lots of millet seemed to help. She went on meds after that. She finally seems 100%.

So to digress. I hope your little guy gets better.

No. No vet. I work. I have them on doxy at the moment. So cross fingers.

hi mate i dont know but she has been moved a fair bit in a short time i think stress related i am not saying skip the vet but i am saying stress causes diarea and fluffing

good luck and hope she recovers

Many sick birds won't stand on 1 leg if she is still doing that then that is a good sign, I hope she recovers okay for you.

If it was cold i'd just say she was keeping warm but............ I really don't know. Sorry
