Thank you for helping me determine that Lemon is definetly female. Now I'm just wondering wha type?

She also has a very dark blue back, she woudn't turn around for me so I could get a photo of it. (Lemon is currently being treated for mites)

She is a YF2 sky blue double factor dominant pied

I agree that "lemon" is a Yellow face factor 2 sky blue, but its hard to tell whether she is a double dominant pied. With a dominant pied, their eyes develop an iris ring (the white part of the eye). In a young bird, this starts out as a very faint thin grey circle on the outside of the eye. Take a close look at Lemon - I assume she is at least 3 months old since you have had her for 2 months already. If you can't see the iris ring then she is likely to be a recessive pied - which have "plum" eyes (no iris ring) throughout their entire life.

I am not saying she is or isnt a Double factor dominant pied but Kazzy......here's something new to add to your knowledge. Double factor dominant pieds most often have an iris ring on one side and none on the other  so you would need to see both eyes.

She is not very old either, so may not have developed one yet. A close up of her eye/s will determine for sure

I've heard of this. Is it always the case that each eye is different for a double dom? I just put 2 dom pieds down to breed - it would be good to know. :(

No...it doesnt happen in all cases but quite a few which makes you check both eyes when you suspect a bird is a DF dom pied :D

So say in a year's time and I wanna breed her, and her boy wasn't a dominant, they would more then likely look like her?

She's lovely. Yep all babies would be dom pieds-single factor.

She is very pretty, I love the yellow face gene on the pied, can you get a better picture of her back and front?
