How do you apply the polystyrene to the roof .Is it attached inside or can it be applied to the outside , on top of the aviary roof.I have heard of this being used on the outside of the aviary and wanted to know how it is done. As it does reduce the temperature.

I use polystyrene. In my birdroom it is applied to the inside of the roof......to the ceiling. Silicone blobs ( use neutral cure silicone ) and pushed into place and wait till it sets. I am about to use it in an aviary also. Will do it the same, but will cover it with shadecloth and then use some secondhand aviary wire also so the birds cannot get at it from inside the aviary. The shadecloth and aviary wire will be between the polystyrene and the birds....I have found it reduces temperatures by at least 15 degrees C. My polystyrene is about 2 inches thick.
