The nest boxes you seen in the back ground are my cockatiels and they are the only nest boxes that are like that. My keet boxes are mounted on the outside of the cages. The tiel boxes were an unexpected thing. Both my females were dropping eggs from the perch left and right and I wasn't going to give a box to either one. But they didn't give up and I gave in. I set them in there until my husband got home and by the time we tried to mount them to the side of the cage, the hens both laid an egg in side and wouldn't get out so it was too late to try to fix it without risk. I have 5 tiel chicks in one and 6 eggs in the other. Once they are done those boxes won't be in there like that. I hate them like that... they take up too much cage space, it's so hard to clean the cage without disturbing the nestbox and in order to reach anything in the cage I have to reach around the opening and play dodge with papa. I know KAZ, believe me, they are not staying that way, they will be fixed when these two clutches are out.
