August 2, 200915 yr Looks great LIV!!! So much room too... My only comment would be regards the picture above. See how the top two nest boxes are on the right of the breeding cages, whereas all the others are on the left... that would annoy the **** out of me... I'm so anal when it comes to stuff like that...
August 2, 200915 yr That looks great Liv and 007, how cold is it getting in the birdroom? is it maintaining a pretty decent temp? as you know im trying to do the same thing, this is fantastic, only thing id have different is half the shed would be flight and the other half my ply cabinets. That looks fantastic!! Also i agree with you maesie. that would really annoy me. Edited August 2, 200915 yr by cameronsch

Maisie, mmmmm, you are right - they do look odd. Now I don't think I will be able to walk in without feeling visually stressed!!!!!!!! and to think I was feeling so calm after all the great work that Liv did...
August 2, 200915 yr Author Dont worry. it bugs me too, which is why all the others are lined up even. But there are eggs in these boxes and i didnt want to swap them over... I will change them later

That looks fantastic!! It gets cold, but with the door closed and the windows closed at night it is surprising that it is a good 5- 10 degrees warmer than outside. All I can say is that the birds are breeding and chicks are being born (hatched) so it is working. we have had frost and its been down to 1.7 outside but all is well.

August 2, 200915 yr Well ordered neat people do not belong in birdrooms there will be anarchy and they will start to line up eggs and cause major problems
August 2, 200915 yr Author The boxes that are smaller have different sized birds in them. I have a pair that is very showy, but very small, so they only have a pet box. The other small box contains a blended pet type foster pair  You can really see the size difference between the boxes used to breed pet budgies, and the ones used to breed exhibition budgies Edited August 2, 200915 yr by **Liv**

Well i suppose that is the main thing that they are still breeding. Will you at some stage insulate to make everything a little more comfortable?

We plan to use polystyrene sheeting to insulate in the future.

And what Liv neglects to say is that she has blankets out there to wrap the boxes with the new young susceptible chicks in, and lots of wood shavings and warm lights on at night to generate some heat. Actually, it is remarkably warm in there at night.
August 3, 200915 yr Author My secret is out Yes, i wrap blankets around the boxes with tiny chicks on their first few nights of life
